Veronika Stetsenko is a mixed media Thailand-based artist who from Voronezh (Russia).
She started her professional art training in her hometown when she was six.
Throughout her art practice, Veronika has experimented with many different styles and techniques. She constantly pushes the boundaries of what is possible in her oeuvre. These days, she is quite interested in abstract art. It allows Stetsenko to explore the depths of her subconscious. She uses a wide variety of materials and mediums in her work, including acrylic on canvas, watercolor, and digital techniques such as typography posters that are mixed with her art. The palette the artist prefers often includes high key bright colors. This, sometimes extravagant, mix allows Stetsenko to highlight (in a manner of speaking) her paintings in any gallery space.
In her "Odonata & Dragonfly" diptych the artist plays with contrasts. Dark blackish graphic looking like insects on a fluorescent background. This way Stetsenko creates an illusion of depths in her 2D image. The dragonfly looks more like a stencil print than a painting, which is a trick that the artist plays on her spectators. By doing that she works with a mythical reality where one can look like another.
