Some say that if an artist is a talented painter, his graphic art may not be so strong. However,
this opinion is not a rule. Many artists demonstrate fantastic abilities in both areas. It may be connected with a common understanding that today's artists are not enslaved by just one medium. Instead, their creative agenda seeks a perfect strategy, which requires mastering
different techniques.
An emerging painter, Olga Boyko, has an interesting landscape sketch series. Rough lineage, low-key coloring with high-key spots makes her works very moving. The artist makes them instead of snapshots that most people do with their phones to have a memorable picture of a place. Boyko's agenda is slightly different: with this expressive imagery, she wants to demonstrate visited sights and share some of the emotions they gave her.
This series reflects Boyko as a skillful drawer who can easily create an image in a small amount of time. The artist stated that while being an art student, she was fascinated by the Impressionists and how they produced their paintings. After studying their methods, Boyko used some of these aesthetics in her oeuvre.
