Hi, what's your name?
Hi, I'm Natasha Bachurina.
Where do you live and what do you do?
I've worked with art all my life. I was born in Nickel and family matters brought me back here, I went to an art school here, that was my breakthrough to the world of art. Then was college and university, I worked as a designer in different spheres like TV and advertising, and lately I've started working with kids.
What are your creative plans, your mission as an artist? What projects are you
interested in?
Having worked at a school in Nickel, I realized this work fascinated me. I'm especially keen on cardboard design, because when you work with cardboard you can make something wonderful from simple things. And it's also kind of avant-garde, it has a crazy touch to it. I like fooling around, and the kids like it too, so fooling around together is the best. I want to keep on working with cardboard design because I really like it. We had this experimental project, a play for which I made costumes, and it was also very exciting because I like theatre as much as cardboard and design. So that's what I want to do
in the future, but I want to combine working with kids and design, it could be advertising, illustrations, but it must have something to do with kids.
What projects would you find interesting and how can one invite you to the project?
A good question! I think I'd like to try my hand at many things, for example graphics, design, I don't think it could be page proofs because I'm not good at it. When I came to the north I was fascinated with the northern spirits, petroglyphs, that kind of thing. It might even be an international project, although I don't know anything about Scandinavia, I've only seen the Viking series, but I'd like to get some more profound knowledge. The Shamanism is one of my favourite things too, and how it's connected to us today, the ancient North and the modern North. Plus the kids of course.
How can invite you to the project?
You can write to me. Or invite me right now!
