Curatorial practices have developed many strategies and approaches since the 1970s when the practice had been developed. Grand biennale projects, and blockbuster art shows, all these activities demonstrated how monumental the curatorial work can be. However, there are more chamber forms of curating, which are also very important for the sphere.
Small gallery open calls allow non-institutional curators to present their ideas on different independent platforms. But here I would like to focus on libraries as space for art and art curators.
A peculiar show named "ZINES." has been held in Nekrasovka Library in 2019. For the exhibit library employees chose a theme that interests a lot of artists around the world, but as a matter of fact, is historically close to Russian artists. This "accusation" is based on that Russian Futurist artists were the ones who turned upside-down the book publishing world at the beginning of the 20th century. They were the pioneers of using non-book materials in their edition, making limited series, and assembling text and images on one lithograph stone. Today's contemporary artists had inherited, developed, and adopted this tradition to the present conditions of the art world.
