From the beginning of the 20th century we observe, how some artists prefer to use a number of mediums, instead of just one. This fact tells us about the ways artists start thinking themselves – multimedia creators, whose oeuvre has no boundaries. Yves Klein's work can be used as an example: the artists worked with painting, performance, installation, etc., and every medium he got interested in had been presented brilliantly.
Today's artists are interested in several mediums at the same time as well. Fati Erkenova is one of them. In here oeuvre she combines production of visual imagery and text writing.

If we take a look at her paintings, we will see how masterfully she uses the aesthetics of Russian avant-garde in these works. By choosing a bright, high key, jazzy colors, Erkenova created images that look like a painted patch-work. Her visual method often reminds of Bilibin and early Kandinsky's art.
If we study this artist more closely, we will see that writing poetry is a big part of her creative life. Erkenova does not separate these two practices, for her they are two parts of one, which is Fati Erkenova.
